The Copernicus Accelerator boosts the entrepreneurial landscape for Copernicus data & information

Looking to encourage the user uptake of Copernicus data and services, the European Commission developed the Copernicus Start-up Programme which provides innovative ideas with support from the generation of a business idea, through to its full commercialisation. A part of this wider programme, the Copernicus Accelerator offers European start-ups, companies, students and researchers the opportunity to take part in a 12-month acceleration programme featuring virtual trainings, regular coaching, and two interactive bootcamps.

Launched in 2016, the Copernicus Accelerator has supported 190 start-ups with their individual commercialisation goals. Mentors work closely with the start-ups to ensure that monthly coaching sessions take place and start-ups continue progressing toward product/service commercialisation. The programme offers innovators a comprehensive learning environment to kick start their entrepreneurial adventure.

“One of the toughest challenges of starting a company is setting the right focus, and the Copernicus Accelerator was exactly what we needed at exactly the right time. The mentoring programme has been especially valuable, opening a whole new network of important people for us.”
