The future of the European space sector

Access to finance is a key enabler of entrepreneurship in a European space ecosystem which has seen several transformations and advancements in recent years. The rapid commercialisation of the space industry has driven innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit not only in Europe, but worldwide. These new emerging space start-ups, however, face several challenges when trying to scale. Largely due to gaps in financing across the space value chain and a suboptimal investment landscape.

The European Investment Bank’s report on “The future of the European space sector: How to leverage Europe’s technological leadership and boost investments for space ventures”, produced with the consultancy support of SpaceTec Partners, examines the space venture ecosystem and highlights the critical hurdles that still need to be addressed.
